Friendly Flours – Wednesday Wisdom

Hopefully, the flours to avoid has resonated with you. There are many flours to introduce to your pantry especially if you can or prefer to make your own food creations from scratch (or sometimes semi-scratch) ingredients. Perhaps many of these flours are as new to you as they were to me. I have not tried most of them yet.

For me, rice flour both white and brown is a staple in my kitchen. Getting either of these flours in generally not in my nearby grocery stores. I purchase them online but shop around the best price.

Friendly flours, listed below, by their name often indicates whether it is more suitable for a sweeter or dessert product.

  • Rice (white and or brown; sometimes sweet)
  • Almond
  • Coconut
  • Garbanzo Bean
  • Garbanzo and Fava
  • Oat
  • Potato
  • Tapioca

Of course, there are many more friendly flours to explore. I’ll add to this list in the future.
