
Yes it is probably safe to eat wheatgrass. I generally only have wheatgrass when I am treating myself to a “special” smoothie. I haven’t tried it in tea or for juicing; have you? While wheatgrass is in the wheat plant family, it is grass portion not containing the “seed” which is the glutenous. For those with a wheat allergy (oops! that’s me), you may prefer to avoid wheatgrass. It is still possible for it to produce allergic reactions in some people such as rashes, throat swelling, and difficulty breathing.
