Last week a friend of mine offered me a new jar of an unwanted hair product, Deep Treatment Masque, that she assured me was for my type of hair. She was correct it is for my tightly coiled/curly hair. The product purports to restore hydration. I’m interested in that! So without further ado, I commenced to use the product as directed extending the time on the hair by 7 minutes because my hair was dry and brittle. Afterwards, I saw no improvement to my hair and scalp feel. As I was deciding whether to give the product another opportunity to work its magic, I read the label carefully in its entirety.
Look carefully at the label pictured above and notice the words – wheat protein (along with sweet almond oil and honey). Under ingredients, it says ” Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol” on the last line. I was not ready to present a lesson on grooming products containing “wheat/gluten” just yet! I need to do additional research on this subject. However, until I research further, I would have avoided this product based on the word “wheat”.
Please do as I say and not necessarily what I did — Read all Labels First!
