Yeah! It is that time of year again to support the efforts of the Girl Scouts Cookie Drive. The proceeds of their cookie business funds camps, troop activities, and service projects in their communities. This Girl Scout Cookie Business generally occurs from January to April but not in all locations. As a former Brownie and Girl Scout, my allegiance to their good works is still close to my heart.
While there are 12 varieties of Girl Scout Cookies, the two (2) Gluten-Free Girl Scout cookie options this year are Toffee-tastic (my favorite GF) and Caramel Chocolate Chip (looking forward to trying these). The price for a box of Girl Scout cookies is $4 to $7. The higher prices are for the gluten-free varieties. A bargain for the experience and education these Girl Scout entrepreneurs receive from this activity.
It easy to support the Girl Scouts Cookie Drive. Since I do not know any Girl Scouts locally, I generally find my Girl Scouts’ table outside of the grocery store. Of course, you can order these desserts online using Cookie Finder. Or if you prefer delivery, Girl Scouts have partnered with Grubhub and or DoorDash in participating markets nationwide starting in February 2022.
Personal Note: I got so excited about the Girl Scout cookies – and saddened about their previous years’ low Girl Scout Cookie Drive results – not only will I be purchasing more cookies (to use as gifts) but I found so-called Gluten Free Girl Scout cookie recipes online. I will try the popular and delicious Tagalongs and Thin Mint cookies recipes – the gluten-free versions.
