I’m excited about the news of IHOP including gluten-friendly options for its pancake lovers like me. IHOP was “the place” for an early breakfast after partying most of the night. It used to be open 24 hours a day. I miss their pancake breakfasts although I’ve had non-breakfast meals there a few times since my diagnoses.
Did you notice “gluten-friendly” and not the words “gluten-free”. IHOP warns that these gluten-free options are still cooked on the same kitchen equipment as foods that do contain gluten. Therefore, the term “gluten-friendly”. This practice could be potentially dangerous for those persons with certain gluten sensitivities or celiac disease.
I don’t know if gluten-friendly options applies to all IHOPs. I will certainly visit my nearby IHOP to enjoy those pancake specials they are famous for.
